A recent Deloitte survey reveals what factors Generation Y consumers (aged 18 to 30) consider to be important when deciding on a car purchase:

The environment: 64 percent are willing to pay more for a greener car.

Made in the U.S.A.: 50 percent think it’s important that their car be manufactured in an American factory.

Financial health: 44 percent would prefer to buy a car from a brand that did not accept federal-bailout funds. Brand loyalty: 42 percent expect to be driving the same car brand in five years.
