The automotive experts of AAA have identified 13 vehicles that offer the best combination of quality, performance and value -- no matter what your budget.
Eight passenger cars,two sport-utility vehicles, one minivan and one pickup have earned honors as AAA's Top Cars for 2005.
This year, AAA's Top Cars include:
• Mazda3 (under $15,000)
• Honda Accord ($15,000-$20,000)
• Chrysler 300 ($20,000-$25,000)
• Infiniti G35 ($25,000-$30,000)
• Volvo S80 ($30,000-$35,000)
• Lexus GS ($35,000-$40,000)
• Acura RL ($40,000-$50,000)
• Jaguar XJ (over $50,000).
AAA named the Ford Escape Hybrid as the top SUV under $30,000,the Volvo XC90 as the top SUV over $30,000 and the Honda Odyssey as the top minivan. The Honda Ridgeline ranked as this year's top pickup.
AAA each year also picks a "Cool Car,"based largely on style and unique personality. For '05, the Ford Mustang GT was deemed coolest for its head-turning exterior, snappy cabin and fun-to-drive quality.
